Problem with wireless zero configuration

I have a USB wireless connection that was working and then quit. This
happened after clicking on a link from a website I was at that looked to be a
good link. I did some research and found an article, 871122, that talked
about the problem. It states that the "Wireless zero service" is not running
and and how to start it. I attempted to start it, but I get another error,
1068, stating that a dependancy is not available. I cannot find anything
that tells me what might be missing that needs to be available to start the
service. Can anyone give me an idea of what I might need to do to get the
wireless service running again?

Wireless Zero Configuration consists of 2 dependencies :
NDIS Usermode I/O Protocol
Remote Procedure Call (RPC.)

It is more than likely the RPC Service that is not responding. Make sure
your windows is updated via windowsupdate.com. There was an updated posted
for the rpc which had a vulnerability in it. Latest update is SP2 of Windows
XP. Once you have updated, the service of Wireless Zero Configuration may be
started by :
Start > Run > cmd > ' sc WZCSVC start '
or
Control Panel > Administrative Tasks > Services - Scroll down to Wireless
Zero Configuration - Right Click > Start

As I stated in the orginal post it is the "wireless zero service" that is not
running. I have confirmed that and referred to article 871122 to try to
figure out how to get it going. When I attempt to start the service I then
get an error - 1068 saying that a dependency is missing. I know with the two
dependencies are, and I can see to instances of RPC running, but I see no
reference to NDIS and have no idea how to get that running so I can get
"wireless zero service" running. After this first started i reapplied
service pack 2 hoping that would fix the problem, but notyhing has changed.
It will be a little difficult for me to try to update via "windowsupdate.com"
since this wireless connection is the means by whixh I connect to a wireless
router that is then connected to my cable internet connection and I have no
wired connection to work with.

If you have any other idea I would greatly appreciate them
Thanks
