Wireless connection excellent but cannot browse

I have a Sony Vaio laptop with 802.11g and a Linksys
wirless router and amplifier. I have 4 computers hooked
up and all work fine, except the Vaio. It works when
wired but not wireless. The connection strength is
excellent, but I cannot see other computers on the
network or browse the net when wireless. I have
configured the network connection, tried a new
connection, changed the name of the network, all to no
avail. Any ideas, oh sage ones? This has got me baffled.
Done everything on the Microsoft and Linksys help sites.
Nothing works.

Make sure that the wireless settings are right on the Vaio: SSID,
encryption type, encryption key, etc.

Does the wireless router have MAC address filtering enabled? If so,
add the laptop's MAC address to the allowed list.

No MAC filtering enabled. In the routers wirelss MAC
addresses, the Vaio shows up, but still won't open a
browser. I can only go online when wired. Is there some
sort of binding that needs to be set?
