Wipe out Vista

Anyone know if there is a way to downgrade from Vista back to XP? Vista is
TERRIBLE (slow, crashes, that stupid onscreen keyboard....) I realy do not
want to format and have to start over though.

I tried contacing MS tech support first as I am within my 90 day period but
typical of Microsoft, they product key, which is registered, will not work to
get me free support.

If you really do not want to format and start over, tell us what your
problems are and we will try to get you over them.. if you are then still
not happy with Vista, you can do a clean install of XP..

The only way that I know of is to reformat and install XP

My machine is premium ready and reasonable fast (dual 1.6 with 2 gigs or RAM)
Vista Runs slow. Just Logging in takes 2-3 minutes with XP this took about
a tenth of that. everything I do hangs up. I open IE and it seems as if it
is not working. I click it again, than a few minutes later two sessions
open.

Additionally I have had it with that PITA onscreen keyboard that opens every
time I log in even though I allegedly turned it off.

Before troubleshooting, can you tell me if there are actually any real
benefits from this OS? I see roadblocks at every intersection, but there is
nothing I can find that is improved over XP. Without knowing all if the
insides, it appears that Vista is just change for the sake of change (or for
the sake of a new revenue generator.)

I greatly regret installing Vista and I wish I could just go back.

The answer to that is similar as when any other operating system was
released.
The owner needs research and determine what if any features in the new
operating system are needed or desired.
If there is a new/enhanced feature you need, it may be a good idea to
upgrade.
It has never been a good idea to upgrade simply because there was a
new
Windows XP will probably be supported for the next several years.
From your description, you probably have no need to upgrade to windows
Vista.

If Windows XP is OEM, Microsoft does not provide support.
Support, if any available, will come from the seller.
One of the many reasons OEM costs less than retail.

Otherwise post back with details of how Windows Vista was installed
including the version and type of Windows Vista (OEM/Retail,

Vista is actually better than XP in every way excepting speed but then when
I had 98SE and went to XP I had the same experience. I had to update the
hardware for things to go better. Same with Vista.

As to the on screen keyboard, it is only there if you want it and you can
have it in both XP and Vista.

My bet is your Vista is corrupted or you have a virus of some sort. Also, if
you have more than 1 anti virus on the one machine, you are asking for
trouble no matter if you use Vista or XP.
