WinXP Setup

I've been trying since 1pm pst to get this computer up
and running, the problem is that when I try and install
Windows XP Pro SP1 on a clean install the setup program
starts then before I get the options to either install on
current partition or create new and so forth, when it's
still loading the files is says : Couldnt load \i386
\ntkrnlmp.exe Error Code is 4. Setup cannot continue.
I've tried cleaning the cd, deleting the current
partition and creating a new one and trying to install,
creating a new partition and then formating the HD and
trying to install, and I've also tried to copy the XP cd
to a folder I created on C: and still same error. I would
appreciate any help!! Thank You!!!

Sounds like either a bad CD or bad hardware configuration on the machine.
If the CD you are using is not a retail copy, then use retail media to
confirm that it is not bad media. If youre using retail media then I would
have your hardware checked.
