Hi,
I had to do a clean install of WinXp recently and have just installed
Norton System Works 2003.
I ran all the Live Updates and Most of Norton's seems to work fine. I
have two hard drives, with
2 and 3 partitions. The problem is when i run Norton Speed Disk on
drive C: , it hangs after
'Optimizing Scanning' is completed.

I let it run for hours and hours and it does nothing. Norton's is still
responsive. I can run virus scan
or Speed disk on another drive. Speed Disk has work for all other
partitions and in a timely manner.

I ran both the Disk Doctor and Win Doctor. The computer started up with
the disk check. Only some minor
window's shortcut errors were found.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

You can try running Speed Disk from safe mode, however, my experience
with Speed Disk has not been good. I recommend not using it at all.
As a matter of fact, the only application I use from System Works is
NAV. For defrag, I use Raxco Perfect Disk instead. Or, you can use
the built in defrag program which is actually a lite version of
Executive Software's Diskeeper.
