(WINXP) manual dial-up internet connection grey out

R

Roger

After uninstall MS smart card reader program, I lost my
dial-up connection. Went to Network folder under Control
Panel and found out both of my dial-up icon disappeared.
Tried to make new connection through manual setup, but it
grey out under connection to internet with modem. Checked
modem is ok. check lan setup is ok. uninstall both lan
and modem drivers and then reinstall both, still cannot
setup internet connection through dial-up modem. Cannot
select the option for access internet with modem dial-up.
I can setup internet through high speed lan but I don't
have cable or DSL.

Any idea, you guy can help me. Please post your advice.
Thank you.

This is the usual cause....

You Cannot Create a Network Connection After You Restore Windows XP

Re-apply SP1 to fix.
