WINWORD.EXE loading at bootup and taking up entire CPU

I got a new computer yesterday, a dual CPU Athlon. After I boot and
look in the task manager, WINWORD.EXE is taking up most or all of one
CPU (close to or equal to 50%). I have a free trial of Office, and
that is where Word is, and its exe is WINWORD.EXE. I can't figure out
how to keep WINWORD from loading each time. I've looked in
MSCONFIG/start and I don't see it there. I can kill it in task
manager, but I'd rather have it not start.

Any ideas of how to fix this?

word may be running as your email editor, try stop outlook from running
on startup.

Contact the distributor who gave you a free trial of Office.

It is a 60-day student/teacher version that came with the computer. I
started it up and activated it, rebooted, and that seems to have
solved the problem.
