RESOLUTION
============
I believe that this issue is the result of a destination host unreachable
message
being sent in response the WINS service Automatic Partner Configuration
function.
The default is for a multicast service announcement to be sent out over the
wire
every 40 minutes. The feature is designed to let the WINS servers announce
themselves for automatic replication. The idea is as an alternative to
statically
configured WINS replication partnerships. Most people are not using this
and your
issue should be easily resolvable with the following registry settings:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Wins\Parameters
Entry Value Name: UseSelfFndPnrs
Data type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Wins\Parameters
Entry Value Name: McastIntvl
Data type: REG_DWORD
Value: FFFFFFFF

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
================================================
If you do wish to keep this functionality in place, then our next step will
to be
to get a network monitor trace from the WINS server while the WINS service
is
restarted, as this will cause the same multicast packets to be sent. As
stated
above, something on your network is replying to these multicasts with a
Destination
Host Unreachable message. The goal will then be to isolate what is
replying to
these broadcasts and then to disable that behavior.

I have edited the reg as below and restarted the WINS
service but I still get the errors.

I have completed a network monitor trace and have found
the UDP Multicast and just below the ICMP Destination
Unreachable with the 9 IP's.

Which are the IP's of the Intel Netport 10/100 print
servers. Which Intel no longer support.

Any further Help Would be Grate. But I don't think I can
do much eles.

Many Thanks

Colin Pyne
