WINNT Installer File Size

I have read a little about the installer files. I gather they are part of
the installs and patches that MS creates so thinkgs might be rolled back if
necessary. Most people ask about these because they can grow large, but
I've not seen anyone who had directories as large as mine. On a 37 gig
machine, my winnt installed directory is 16 gigs. Is there a safe way I
might move, delete or otherwise reduce its size?

Many windows components can be relocated and have Registry pointers
reflect that change. \Installer is not one of them. Even using Junction
points
you cannot relocate the folder. As to removing or deleting them that has a
few dangers as well. Certain updates require these original components to
be available. Removing content from here will definitely impact any Office
updates you may need in the future.

This is one of those situations where a larger drive ( or partition ) is
the
best solution.

If you do decide to make changes on \Installer be SURE to backup the
complete folder before hand.
