WinMediaPlayer 10 +MP3

I upgraded to WMP 10 because they said ripping to mp3 was included but every
time I try to do it, it says mp3 is not an available option.
I have re-downloaded and reinstalled but no change. If there is a simple
plugin I wouldnt mind if you
emailed it to me. I have my antivirus program to protect me :).

Yes, I have other programs that rip just fine (like Audiograbber which I
love!). I just would like to see all the options offered by WMP be able to
work as promised.

Thanks.

On WMP click tools, plugins and download plugins. That takes you to the
plugin page where you can download the mp3 encoder plugins for WMP.

If this is a Dell pc I found out that there is a bug from where they put
the Dell jukebox in by default. It tells you it won't do MP3 in WMP but
if you change to a different bitrate it will, just not the standard
bitrate. (Think Dell wants you to use MMJukebox for MP3 instead so make
it difficult)Every time you use WMP it connects to Music Match too.

Yes it is a Dell. However, the day I got it I uninstalled MusicMatch
jukebox and added winamp which I was already comfortable using. Would the
bug still exist?

Using a bitrate of 128 is a bug in WMP10.
My previous post with the link to Microsoft FAQ 6.5 tells you how to get
round this.

Works fabulously!
Thanks.

In Windows, click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open text box, type regedit, and then click OK.

In Registry Editor, click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Settings\Mp3Encoding
In the pane on the right, right-click the LowRateSample value, and then
click Delete.

If you see the message "Are you sure you want to delete this value?", click
Yes, and then close Registry Editor.
If you see the message "Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of
its subkeys?", you are attempting to delete the wrong item. Click No, and
then repeat step 4.
