again and then another error code right after telling me that it could not
load c:\windows.\system32\xbqcde\winlogon.exe and to remove the reference to
it in the registry how do i remove this? do i need winlogon.exe?

This is almost certainly a Trojan - the 'xbqcde' gives it away.

Be careful removing it, as if the Trojan has hooked the winlogon process,
you may be unable to logon to your computer if you remove the substitute
file. One way of tackling this is to replace the Trojan with a genuine copy
of winlogon.exe - that way if it's still hooked, the worst it can do is run
the proper file. The proper version is normally in \windows\system32.
