I realize that this question is only tangential to this newsgroup. But since
there are no active Symantec newsgroups anymore and Symantec has
nothing worthwhile about this, I thought I'd mine for information here.
The latest version of Winfax Pro is 10.02 and is purported to be
compatible with Windows XP. However, if you install SP1, Winfax
becomes unstable. Uninstalling SP1 restores it to normal operation.
Symantec's only take on this is that "Winfax has not been tested
on Windows XP SP1."
With Microsoft's new attractive pricing for its SBS2003 "Standard"
product, which includes fax sharing, is Symantec abandoning its product?
Or has anyone heard of anything in the works from Symantec for
a Winfax product compatible with Windows XP SP1?
Thanks.
