WinDVD Suite -- is CD *REALLY* for ASUS only?

Hi...

My ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe board came with interVideo's WinDVD Suite. On the
CD sleeve, it says: "This version of WinDVD Suite works only on ASUS
motherboards."

The hard drive on my son's Dell laptop crashed while he's home from school
and Dell sent a replacement which will be here tomorrow. All his
installation disks are at school in another state -- including WinDVD.
(Dell was kind enough to send an XP install disk.)

I was thinking I could use the ASUS WinDVD installation disk to get my son's
laptop up and running before he goes back to school. Does anyone know if
the WinDVD disk that came with my ASUS board REALLY only works with ASUS
motherboards?
