In Windows XP x64 Edition, the tooltips displayed by the
taskbar (Start Button, running tasks, system notification
tray) do not have the proper z-order. The tooltips
display behind the taskbar, making them unusable. These
tooltips are important. Some examples are:
Checking the date by hovering over the time.
Checking other temperatures by hovering over the icon for
a program called SpeedFan.
This is one bug which I find very annoying. Microsoft,
please post a fix as soon as possible. I know you guys
have many, many, many more bugs on your hands, but at
least get the cosmetic bugs a look over. Also, the "New"
menu item on the desktop... When hovering over items in
the New sub menu, the foreground (text) color may be
black while it should be white. This bug is also in
Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional 32-bit (SP2,
SP1, RTM).
Cosmetic changes like these are simple fixes. Please at
least look into these types of bugs because they make the
overall Windows UI more complete and usable.
