Windows XP won't shut down

I just got a new system with Windows XP and installed
some basic programs ie. printer driver for HP printer and
Kodak Easyshare for digital camera. Now Windows won't
shut down while I'm logged on as a user. When I hit
Start, Turn Off Coputer, Restart (or Shutdown) nothing
happens. I can go to Standby and then shut down from
there but can't do it while I'm logged on as a user. Can
someone help?

(Also, there is only one User (me) and I am
administrator.)

Uninstall them one at a time to find out which is causing the problem. Then
look mfrs. site for updated XP drivers.
