Windows XP will not start

I have Windows XP home edition. When I try to start my computer it stops and
shuts down just before the log on screen. I get the following error message:
STOP; C000021a[Fatal system Error], THE WINDOWS LOG ON PROCESS,
system process terminated unexpectedly with a state of 0xc0000006
(0x00000000 0x00000000). The system has been shut down.
I tried the options you get with F8 but same thing. Safe mode, last
configuation do not work. Any one have any suggections?
