Windows XP updates failed

I keep getting a message stating that my windows updates have failed. I've
tried to install the following updates but no success. Any help would be
appreciated.
Security Update for Windows XP (KB873339)
Critical Update for Windows XP (KB886185)

How to view the Update log in Windows
Open Internet Explorer and either type or copy and then paste this into the Address
bar:
%windir%\windowsupdate.log


Are there any specific errors relating to the updates that failed to install.

You can download them from the Catalog and save to be installed later.
