Hi All,

We are facing one general problem on one of our very important corporate
officer having windows xp profession edition. The operating system taking much
time to up.once the screen start as "windows xp start-up....",it takes much
time to come to logon screen. It is also true that he has many applications
installed in his computer but at the same time he has 1 GB of RAM also. The
system is IBM laptop x40 series.

so can you all please suggest how we can reduce the time of startup as much
as possible..We have removed many applications from running in startup using
msconfig but stil the screen takes much time.

Please let us know your suggestions.

Not an easy topic to give "Hard-&-Fast" answers for. First,
which Security software is used & starting ? What is the status
of the drive's fragmentation? Trimming Startup & Watchdogs might
help, but other things are more vital. Latest drivers, Service Packs
& "Malware Removal" are critical. When you state startup time,
you should give us a number to work with. While having ample
memory helps, loading up Junk defeats having it.

I would also reccomend checking system for adware, spyware, viruses as they
will also slow down your system to a crawl. for adware and spyware check out
microsofts NEW DEFENDER BETA 2... I downloaded it about and hour ago and it
worked...had adware and spyware on my system. this defender version replaces
the current version of microsoft anti-spyware ...and it works.
