Is Microsoft going to think about a new service pack for XP?
I have read here

I would wait and see. Microsoft promised SP7 to Windows NT
but delivered Windows 2000 instead. And it is doubtful that
after the most recent rollup that Microsoft will produce a
SP5 for Windows 2000, now that Windows XP is ready to give
way to Vista. It makes far more sense (and profit) for MS
to eschew any service pack and go directly to the next major
revisio.

From the gist of the anouncement, I'd say that MS will introduce some of
the visual elements of Vista in SP3, plus all post-SP2 fixes. That'll be
it until XP is about to go off mainstream support, when SP4 will be
released, to include all post-SP3 fixes in one simple package. Sort of
like what W2K sp4 is.
