Windows XP SP2 start-up problem (please Help!)

I've just installed windows XP Pro w/SP2 onto a NTFS formatted hard disc,
when i start the computer it passes the windows xp welcome screen and freezes
with the wall paper showing and nothing else then after approx 15mins it
continues to load into windows/

Try booting a couple of times to set and save settings, then it should be OK.
