Windows XP slow to boot up

three months ago out of the clear blue I rebooted windows
xp and it took 9 minutes to reboot. after welcome screen
still takes 3 minutes to load personal preferences. I
replaced the processor, motherboard and memory with no
help. I reloaded windows first of course. Scanned for
viruses and came up clean. Tried to repair windows--No
help. Finally I reformated the hard drive and reloaded
everything and it solved my problem. Today It did it
again. Can anyone tell me what's going on and how to fix
the problem without reloading everything. Restoring the
computer to an earlier date did not help either. Both
times I had the problem I had just scanned for spy
software using ad-aware

I had similar problem. System restore would't fix it. But I
uninstalled/Reinstalled EZ firewall (latest) and problem fixed
