Windows XP Restarts every time I get online!

I have been working on a friend's computer and every time I get online with
his dial-up modem I can stay online for maybe 3 minutes then a square box
pops up with the following message.....

"This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log
off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was initiated by NT
AUTHORITY/SYSTEM

Time before shutdown 00:00:60

Message:
The sytem process C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe terminated unexpectedly with
status code -1073741819. The system will now shut down and restart."

Then it counts down and restarts the computer and as long as I don't go
online it doesn't happen again.

Also sometimes when the computer restarts I get the message.....

LSA Shell [Export Version] encountered a problem and needed to close.
Please tell Microsoft about this problem.

Any answers to fix this would be appreciated!!
