Windows XP Prof. not downloading *.pdf files

R

Randy

I can not download Adobe pdf files with XP Prof. that is on my laptop. When
I am an a web page that has a link to an Adobe pdf i.e. a bank statement or
account statement; my oper. system will not down load it or open it so I can
see it in Adobe Reader. It doesn't matter with ver of Adobe Reader I use,
it is the same problem. MS XP says it can't downoad the file because it
doesn't have the whatever to do it. At other times a new window will open
in Adobe but only an icon in the upper LH corner shows and nothing else.

Is there something missing in XP for this? I don't have this problem on
other laptops.

Right click the .pdf link and select Save Target As.

XP doesn't care what you might use to open a .pdf file, you should be able
to download any .pdf files that you want.

I use Foxit Reader. I do not even have Adobe Reader any more.

EWH32.api = External Window Handler

The Acrobat Browser Manager plug-in allows users to view PDF files in their
web browser.

If you want that to happen, make sure that the EWH32.api file is located in
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\Plug_ins
