Windows XP problem

My machine runs on Widnows XP SP2 and IE8.0.
Two days before my father browsed something in the Inbox of Faccbook and
then clicked "Home", It seemed not to respond, then he "refesh" the page. It
did not respond. He click "refresh" again and it stoped to respond too. So
he tried to close the Browser and it returned the error message "IE has
encountered probelm and it must be terminated. So he pressed "Confirm". But
it did not respnd. He wait for a while, the computer shut down and restart
automatically. When it entered to the Windows Desktop screen, a message popup
"Bitdedefender monitor console" could not start" and he clicked the Retry
buttom, then the computer restarted again. He clicked the chancel button when
the same message popup apeared again after the Wdindows returned to desktop
scrren. But the machine's harddisk singal light was flashing and it seemed it
is working busily. I found that the machine was running very slowly and some
startup processes (such as Ad-aware 2009) as slow to start.

I then rebooted the computer and entered the Safe Mode (without Internet
connection) and run the free version of DrWeb Curit, it started very slow too
and in the startup stage it stopped. I waited for a few minutes, a blue
screen "it has to shut down for protecing the computer" request me to check
the new installation of hardware and software..... with line a STOP:
0x000000f4.

I has also ckecked the event log and found the system error with the same
error ID and some error ID.

Please help

Please help

System Restore will most likely fix it. Click Start/Help if unsure how to
launch it.

Why hasn't SP3 been installed yet? Computers running WinXP SP2 will NOT be
offered any further critical security updates, Automatic Updates will cease
to function, and Windows Update website will not be available after 10 July
2010 until SP3 is installed.

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this
machine (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?

Best guess is the "something in the inbox of facebook" stuck a poisoned
spear right in the heart of your computer. Your father, in an effort to
validate his existence by reveling in the acknowledgment by others of his
existence, managed to download a vicious piece of malware (which is SOME
indication of what other might think of his life in general).

You might try the fixes for a STOP F4 event (failure of paging space), but
my money's on malware.
