Hi,
Have recently built my new rig and am having some problems with Win Xp pro
64bit version.

Machine specs are as follows.

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1GB PC3200 DDR
DFI Lanparty Nforce4 ultra-d MOBO
PNY 6600GT PCIE
SB Audigy 2zs
Akasa EVO33 H/s fan
Hiper Black label 580w PSU.
MS media pro keyboard
Logitech MX1000 laser mouse
2*Samsung h/d drives 200gb/120gb
Philips DVD RW
Liteon CDRW
Jeantec JN99 case.

Using the latest Nvidia drivers for the MOBO and Graphics card. Also latest
drivers from creative for the soundcard. I don't load drivers for the mouse
and just use the generic MS ones. Have the latest 64bit intellitype
drivers/software for my keyboard.
Dual booting Winxp Home with all available updates and patches, Winxp Pro
64bit version with all available updates and patches...

I have NO issue with 32bit version of windows at all. It works absolutley
fine. 64bit however is really beginning to bug me.....If I am sat in front of
the pc using it, it is fine no problems at all, if I leave it alone for 5-10
mins however it locks up solid, requiring a hard re-set to get machine back
up and running. I have turned off ALL power saving schemes in Windows and
even disabled them in the bios in case this was causing the lock, nope still
happened. Turned off screen saver, still no joy. Turned off automatically
defrag hard disk when computer is idle....Still the same. The event log shows
no details as to what might be causing this problem.....
I am fairly certain that it is a software/driver issue because I do not get
the same issue in winxp home.
I have run a full Norton AV scan and also run MS antispyware as well as
Spybot S&D and adaware...... I have also checked my system processes to see
if there was something running that I didn't recognise but there wasn't.....I
am all out of ideas, anyone else have similar issues or know where else to
look?????
Thanks in advance.
Any ideas at all??

You should ask this in the 64 bit newsgroup:
microsoft.public.64bit.general

Hiya Jupiter,
I already have posted this query in the 64bit area, but as yet have had no
reply. So I thought I would throw it out to wider audience.......
