I realized that after I sent the message. I was just trying to help answer
the original question, instead of continuing this new tread.

No Media center and home are the same, pro has more network options for
sharing.
This was posted below:

Home can have up to 5 computers on a network.
Pro can have up to 10 computers on a network.

MCE and Home cannot join a domain.
The numbers of computers on a domain is not limited.
The computers on a domain share a central directory database.
Domain computers can be anywhere in the world.

OK, not a problem. I just wanted to set the record straight.

Yes, thank you -- but that doesn't answer my question.

We have some markedly different opinions here -- some of which must be
eyewash.

We were originally told that Media Center is a "superset of XP Pro" with the
exception of not being able to join a domain.

We were told that EVERYTHING that is in XP Pro is also in Media Center with
that one exception.

NOW we are being told that HOME and Media Center are the same except for the
network options called out below.

My question still stands:

Does Windows XP Media Center Edition actually have ALL the security,
privacy, encryption and compartmentation features that Windows XP Pro has?

From Doug Knox,
Remote Desktop and Encrypting File System support are still included.
