Windows XP Pro update doesn't function anymore

L

Luc Braeckman

Hi,
A couple of months ago, I switched of automatic updates and chose to do the
updates myself. It worked well for a couple of weeks, but at a given moment,
I couldn't get windows to install the new Windows Genuine Advantage
Validation Tool (KB892130).
Turning on automatic updates again noly showed me that new updates (Windows
Genuine Advantage Validation Tool) were ready to be installed, but didn't
bring any improvement.
I'm afraid that my windows registry is somewhere corrupt, but can't find an
entry for it.

Any help is appreciated

Allo Luc,

Try this:

Highlight, right-click and copy the text below between the dotted
lines - but not the dotted lines themselves. Open Notepad and paste it
in. Save the result as Update-Repair.bat in a suitable location,
making sure that the default .txt extension doesn't appear in the
saved file name. Double-click on the saved .bat file. Try the Updates
again.
