Yes just follow instuctions in your MOBO users manual,
you will need to set BIOS options for boot order and at
the begining of installation you will be required to
press the F6 key to load the SATA driver, so copy it to a
floppy and have it ready, regards Dave.

The ASUS P4C800 does not require any special drivers for a SATA drive.
Install your drive and follow this procedure:

The Windows XP CD is bootable and contains all the tools necessary
to partition and format your drive. Follow this procedure and allow
Windows XP to partition and format your drive:

1. Open your BIOS and set your CD Drive as the first bootable device.
2. Insert your Windows XP CD in the CD Drive and reboot your computer.
3. You'll see a message to boot to the CD....follow the instructions.
4. The setup menu will appear and you should elect to delete the existing
Windows partitions, then create a new partition, then format the primary
partition (preferably NTFS) and proceed to install Windows XP.

5. Clean Install Windows XP

| OK thanks, but witch drivers I have to load in F6 setup ?
| My motherboard (Asus P4C800) use new Intel 875 chipset
| with new ICH5 that have integrated 2 S-ATA + 2 Raid S-ATA
| (Promise controller), i don't think that I have to use
| the Promise drivers because are only for Raid S-ATA, or i
| wrong ?
|
| Thanks
