have a network with 3 machines which link to a hub router
to each other and on to the internet. this has worked
sucessfully for a number of years using windows 98se.
I have just replaced one of these with a new machine and
have instaled windows xp home. xp required the setting up
of a new work group which I have done reasonablly
sucessfullybut with extra ordinary results which for the
life of me I cannot resolve.
as follows: pc1( win98) recognises www and workgroup with
all 3pc's
pc2( win 98) recognises www and workgroup with pc1 and pc2
Pc3 (win xp home)recognises www and workgroup and itself
pc3 only.
also I cant get my help file to index on the new XP
system. but this should not matter?
any help much appreciated
Regards John
