Windows XP Installation

I have completed the first part of an XP installation which involved copying
several files. Windows then automatically restarts. At this point my
computer will not restart windows to complete the installation. I am using
a slipstream disc containing SP2. Are there files in the root directory
that may be missing?

Does it give any sort of error message or any other indication as to
just what the problem might be?

Thanks for the reply. When the computer restarts it goes through the usual
BIOS procedures and at the point that it should boot from ones of the drives
the harddrive light comes on steady and the screen does not display any
message. It seems like the system is searching for boot information and
can't find it. I can boot from the CD so I could access the repair console
if I knew what to repair. I have gone so far as to purchase new XP sp2
software (not pirated) but is takes extremely long to copy several files
during the initial installation process.
