** Windows XP Home is slow to start after Service Pack 1 install

I installed Service Pack 1 and noticed that when I start the computer there
is about a minute
of blank screen between the XP starting screen and the Welcome / Sign in
screen. I could not
find if this is a problem that others also have. The computer is an HP
Pavilion 7935
with 640 meg ram, a Geoforce 2 video card and a Audigy 2 sound card. It has
two drives,
a 40 gig with 20 gig free and an 80 gig with 40 gig free. Any ideas on what
could be causing
the slowdown?

Thanks, Mike

defrag your disk(s) (Sp1 makes a big mess as it replaces things all over
the place), wait until it's rebooted a few times, and see if that makes
it better. If not, try bootvis (google will find it, and provide
instructions for use of it too).
