I went to send a fax the other day and it locked up my pc hard. I had to
reboot using the power button. After I rebooted, I uninstalled fax and
reinstalled it. Then it answered on 2 rings even though it is set to manual
answer. I uninstalled fax and now when I call my home phone, fax picks up in
two rings ! UGH. How do I fix this ? Fas IS NOT installed and I am getting a
fax answering in 2 rings...obviosuly some fax components were not removed
completely...

Try going to

www.download.com

and downloading CCleaner ("Crapcleaner")

It's supposed to remove all "remnants" from "removed"
programs that aren't.

if you catch my drift.

I've been using Crapcleaner for a few weeks now, and it's
the best thing I've used.

You can select from a wide variety of fixes, such as "clean
my cookies cache or don't".

Since I have a separate Cookies Manager, I de-select the
Cookies cleaner in Crap Cleaner, and I deselect the url
history cleaner, etc.

Good luck!
