Windows XP Error

I get this error message after I installed Norton Internet security. "Userinit.exe - Application Error. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application." After clicking on OK the windows backround is visable and the mouse pointer is the only thing on the screen

Any solution since I cannot logon into the system the screen is just the background with mouse pointer on.

Answered in another group. This is a Winlogon issue:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Userinit should only read: C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,
