msnmsgr.exe - application error - SOS i cannot run windows live mg

Dear all ......

greetings!

i keep getting the following error message when i run Windows Live Messeger
8 and above.

"The application failed to initialize properly 0xc0000005). Click on OK to
terminate the application."

I am running on Windows XP platform. Previously to 'work around' the
problem i use messenger 7.5 but now no longer possible.

Kindly advice? Appreciate it!

Are you using a Sony Vaio by chance? If so, go to Add or Remove Programs
and remove the SonicStage Mastering Studio Audio Filter. If that's not
there, try uninstalling any SonicStage software. Other Vaio users have run
into this same problem.

using a Sony Vaio! i have done as per what you have guided, and it is now
working!
