Windows XP Error Message

An error message appears before the startup image of
window xp screen image. The error as follows:

The application or Dll C:\WINDOWS\System32\IMM32.DLL is
not a valid windows image. Please check this against your
installation diskette.

Actions Taken,

1) Enter key is pressed to proceed to Windows environment.

2) While windows is loading the application
programmes/hardware drivers, this error message appears
with respect to the type of applications being call out.

3) Enter key is tried many times to continue loading the
devices or programmes.

4) Any application programme activation will appear with
this error message.


Appreciate for kind solutions to resolve this issue.

Hi,

From a previous post:

Start/run msconfig, click on "expand file" (general tab)

File to expand: imm32.dll
From: X:\I386
To: %windir%\system32

Where X is whatever letter is assigned your CD drive, change it accordingly.
Reboot when finished.

Or copy IMM32.DL_ from the CD into the Windows directory then type EXPAND
IMM32.DL_ IMM32.DLL
