Windows XP, devices

Windows XP does not recognize my HP printer, my digital
camera, or my new soundcard.

No sound comes out of speakers. I have followed all
steps in the help menu, confered with various techs,
including mfg of Delta1010lt soundcard/interface, who
stated an update Windows Service Pack 1 was necessary, as
well as installing the update on the Delta driver.
Still no sound.
The Delta1010lt soundcard is listed as the default for
all sound devices, output and recording.

When installing the delta driver, via CD that came with
product, message shows that the driver is not digitally
signed and might cause problems.

Before purchasing, I checked with MS and Delta techs for
compatibility, and got the go-ahead.

Computer prof at college suggested I use Windows 2000
instead of XP, as compatibility seems to be a common
problem with XP.

Anyone have a solution, other than scraping my Windoes XP?
