Windows xp defrager won't open.

I can not use the windows defrager. Every time I open it to defrag, I get
error message that says "disk defrager could not start." This occurs even
when booting in safe mode.

How do I fix this?

If your anti-virus software warns of a malicious script you can safely
ignore it.

Thanks for tip. Not sure what the 280 tip does. Downloaded it and clicked
but nothing happened.. It was is defrag.exe module. What do you do to get it
to work? Also,Installed the 291 reg edit.
