Windows Vista RC1 is available in download in english, german and even
japanese but not in french !!!
The french version exists there are some screenshots on the web.
But we can't download it. There's no reason.

It's scandalous for frenchs to be treated with less consideration than
german sand japaneses

C'est vrai que la version francais de Vista RC1 n'est pas encore disponnible
mais il faut souvenir qu'il y a des centaines des langues parlés au monde et
c'est entierement impossible pour Microsoft de gerer un programe beta dans
tous ces langues entierement egalement.

En tout cas il y a un programe beta de Vista en francais, mais c'est un peut
plus limité. Je sais que comme le representant du communauté des
professionnels en TI de Montréal j'ai aidé a un des aviseurs aux
professionnels en TI de Microsoft Canada a distribuer les betas en français.

C'est domage que tu pense que c'est un attaque contre les français mais ce
n'est pas le cas. C'est un question de temp, et je suis presque certain que
dans les semaines la version francais serait disponnible.

It is true that the French version of RC1 is not yet available but you have
to remember that there are hundreds of languages in the world and it is
impossible for Microsoft to manage a beta program in every language
completely equally.

Of course there is a beta program in French but its scope is slightly
limited. I know this because as the representative of the Montreal IT
Professionals Community I have worked with one of Microsoft Canada's IT Pro
Advisors to distribute the French beta.

It is too bad that you feel that this is an attack on the French which it is
not. It is a question of time and I am sure that in the coming weeks RC1
will be available to you in French.

What has always bothered me is that it's not available in Swedish! In
what way is the Swedish language a lesser language than German or
Japanese (or French for that matter)?

Seriously though, you are not being treated with less consideration, but
perhaps this once you are not being treated with more consideration than
the rest of us (us as in non-native English, German or Japanese-
speaking).

Just be patient. I'm sure many people wants to have a beta in his language
and I don't know why Microsoft has choosen german for example. Why not
release first in spanish instead of german that is spoken in lots of
countries by millions of people? For japanese I supose that as it uses
multicode characters is good to have a test for ti.

For me is enough to have the oportunity for testing it in english.

I downloaded the French version, but I ended up formatting my computer to do
a clean install of the English version.

Je suis avec toi mon pote!
Les francais voudrais essayer vista en francais car qui mieux que quelqu'un
qui parle le francais peut detecter les erreurs de language dans celle-ci.
en plus, cette foutus rc1 en francais existe !

Je ne vois aucun
vista_5600.16384.060829-2230_x86fre_client-lr1cfre_fr_dvd.iso dispo pour le
CPP.

je n'ai pas trouvé la version RC1 FR de vista non plus sur les serveurs de MS
alors qu'elle existe bien vu que je l'ai installé récemment. par contre on la
trouve facilement sur BT et même en 64 bits FR ...je ne comprends pas
pourquoi ms ne mets pas cette RC1 aussi pour les français vu qu' elle existe
....
