windows vista keeps stopping working

Please help!

I have windows vista, my automatic updates will not download, My firewall
will not switch on, and I cannot back up files as windows keeps freezing and
not responding. I have AVG and spyware doctor, I have run both and they
haven't picked up any virus. I have tried to download another antivirus but
now won't download anything. Tried a system restore which I think worked but
this didnot help and now I can't open my Itunes as it says the version is not
current (and won;t download the new one). I need some advice please!

If you ask in a Windows Vista group, rather than in this .NET programming
group, you'll have better results.
Here's how to find the group you need.

As you appear to be using a web interface, start here:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx

In the tree on the left, first open the English category, then open Windows.
In Windows, find and open the Windows Vista category and find a group there
to post in.
