Windows updates don't download

Just noticed that my windows updates don't download automatically.
I have it set to download automatically and advise me before installing.
The yellow shield icon sometimes briefly appears in system tray, when I
point
to it, it says downloading 0% and then disappears. There are downloads
because if I use the check for updates in IE it finds some.
I couldn't find anything in the KB about this.
I have XP with SP2.
Thanks Frank

You might want to post to the experts in the Windows Update newsgroup -
