windows update won't open

Greetings

Just got back from holidays to see news about Blaster. Because kids were
left behind (they are adults - I'm told!) I checked with an updated Stinger
and there is no sign of it on my XP pro installation, but I can't access the
Windows update page to download the fix - just get a message saying

"Cannot display the page The page you are trying to view cannot be
displayed because the server it resides on does not repsond. Please try
again later. "

Is it me, or is it the MS end?

Thankyou for your reply Karel. Unfortunately I can't decide if it is a)
sarcastic b) badly written or c) inaccurate

If you are saying that the MS site is overloaded because so many people are
accessing it, then the problem is at their end, not mine.

If you are saying, with sarcasm, that I am foolish for expecting to connect
when so many others are trying to do so, well a simple statement to that
effect would have sufficed. However, given that there are reports that the
authors of Blaster have been engineering a DofS attack on the update site, I
think my question was a reasonable way of ascertaining what is going on.

However, doing a quick scan of your previous postings in this group, sarcasm
seems to rear it's head a few times - I always wonder what insecurity drives
such an approach.

Yes it is sarcasm.
Since you are so keen to scan messages in this NG why not for your own
problem?
There are so many good answers in this NG.
Are you trying to analyse me? Why?
The drive for my aproach is: I want to force other people to think for
themselves.
This you also might find in my postings along with some usefull advise.
If it is your goal to discuss about this matter this is not the right
platform.
Send me an e-mail and we will see.

Greetz Karel

My understanding is that good NG etiquette is to carry out all
correspondence in the group, not by email.

Why do you presume I didn't scan the group for messages relating to my
original enquiry? I did exactly that before posting - and could find no
references to
difficulties in logging on to the Update website.

I have no wish to analyse you in particular. But if you think that sarcasm
will prompt people to learn for themselves, I wonder how you learned in the
first place?

Sorry, but you are the one who deemed to answer my problem with no help
whatsoever, and delivered what you admit was sarcasm instead. Could I
suggest that you only respond in future when you have something positive to
offer?
