Windows Update link not responding

I just bought myself a Toshiba Satilite and put a clean
installation of Windows 2000 pro on it. I went to click
on the update link and it just sat there. If I type in
windowsupdate.mircosoft.com in IE6 it just sits there. I
CAN type in www.microsoft.com and can get to the main
page but when I click on updates nothing happends.
Is this a common problem with Toshiba Products?

Hi John

Are you sure that you typed the URL correctly? In your mentioned URL
(windowsupdate.mircosoft.com) you typed Mircosoft instead of Microsoft. This
might be why you were not able to access WU.
Another reason might be that WU is just quite busy with many Users wanting
to get the latest Updates to ensure their Systems are safe. Trying again at
some later point of time might help as well.

Try again by clicking this link: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
