Windows Update failed- runtime error

Ive just installed windows 2000 server on my comp.
Every Windows update fails after or during download

Usually a runtime error occurs: the remote server machine
does not exist or is unavailable.

or the remote procedure call failed and did not execute.

Ive also noticed that the service control manager has
stopped" the remote procedure call(rpc)service has
terminated unexpectedly.

After looking at these newsgroups and knowledge base my he
im stumped.

Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like you might have caught Blaster worm or one of its derivates.
Please download the MS-039 Security Update and disinfect your system with
your updated AV Application.
