windows update error 0x8ddd0004

windows xp was reinstalled on my computer about a couple of months ago. i
noticed that my computer wasn't doing automatic windows updates. i tried to
do windows update manually and i've been getting 0x8ddd0004 error. if anyone
knows how to fix it so that i can get the automatic updates.........it will
be greatly appreciated. thanx

I had the same problem and couldn't get the updates. I don't remember if
this was the same error code but I went to http://www.pctools.com and
downloaded "Registry Mechanic". There is a trial verison but isn't completely
functional. To be completely functional you will have to buy the software.
After I ran the software I was able to get the updates.
It doesn't hurt to try.
