Windows searches for my drives and folders after every boot

When I boot and log in then go into windows explorer and click my computer my
drives are not displayed and I get the searching torch icon. It looks as if
windows has to find my drives and folders and until they are found I can't
launch any programs. This takes about 5 mins each time.
Does anyone know how I can solve this?
Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks so much for this reply...I was having the same problem after the SP2
download, this edit fixed it right away (I did need to restart my computer
after the download though to make it work).
