Windows Product Activation Error

M

Marc

I recently cloned one of our Windows XP Pro SP1 Systems. I
have done this many times before with no problems.
However, this time during the sysprep install it kept
asking for the cd. Then when the sysprep install was
completed, I tried to log in as the admin and got the
following error

Windows Product Activation
A Problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking
the license for this computer. Error Code: 0x80090006

If anyone could give me any advice or point me in the
right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Possible Resolution:

Go to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 regwizc.dll , and hit enter.
Then go again to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 licdll.dll , and hit enter again.

Apparently, and I can't say how, the above files became unregistered.

Carey,
Thank you for the advice but it didn't work. I have found
the problem however and again need a work around.

The problem is that after running the sysprep install my
drive letter changes from E:\ to C:\

I have attempted a fix that I found in the knowledge base
but it onlty made matters worse. Any advice?
