Hello:-
I need the XP activation phone number for CA, USA.
My son ininstalled Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum
Edition, and was a victim of the problem described in KB
811408, where the boot drive was inacessible due to a STOP
0x0000007B error.
After following the registry fix described in the KB
article, the system can now be booted from the C: drive,
but Windows thinks it is no longer activated. I receive
the following msg when attempting to log in:
'A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking
the license for this computer. Error code: 0x80090006'
All the articles on the MSFT KB assume that you will get
the phone # from the product activation wizard, but that
does not appear in this case.
Machine: Compaq Presario 6027US P4-2GHz
OS: Windows XP Home Edition
