Windows prevents drives from opening?

My computer has recently had a pop-up that says, " Applications or devices on
this computer use drives that will cause windows to become unstable. Windows
has prevented drives from loading." I can not figure out how to change this.
It seems my CD/DVD Drive is what's not working.

Try opening event viewer for specific details,click on the url in a
event/warning
this opens help/support in xp,usually with a fix.If you think its the
cd/dvd drive,
open the case (power disconnected),unplug the drive.If another drive is on
the
same IDE cable,then that drive will need its plastic jumper pin on the case
re-
set,usually to master since its all thats left.
