Windows Picture and Fax Viewer Preview

I want to change the default from Preview to Open.

I have Photo Editor and have set that to open my JPG files. This works,
however, I have to right click to get to it.

I have tried to find a way to make open the default, so that a double-click
will work.

How do I do this? I went to View Files and Preview is not a selection under
Advanced. Please advise.

Try this...

Right click a jpg | Properties | Opens with: xxxx | Change button |
Select: Photo Editor | Check: Always use the selected program to open this
kind of file | OK | Apply | OK

When I select Open, the file opens in Photo Editor. The problem is that
Preview is the default selection (for a double-click). This is what I wish
to change. I want to double-click and have the file Open as Photo Editor.

Hi David,

As for editing? If so:

To view an image using Picture and Fax Viewer and Edit using other software:

Go to Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Select an image
type (jpg). Click on Advanced then New. Name for Action type in: &Edit.
Under Application used to perform action: Browse to the
application/software. Set it as default. Ok your way out.
