Hi Jason
When you formatt your hard drive you erase or delete EVERYTHING on it.
You have to reinstall the program.
Hope this helps.

Are you talking about Windows Picture and Fax Viewer? Microsoft Photo Editor
comes with MS Office.

Hi Jason,

If you are referring to "Microsoft Photo Editor 3.0.2.3", it does'nt
install with Windows XP but rather it installs with "Microsoft
Office for XP". If you reformatted your hard drive then you will
have to re-install Microsoft Office for XP in order to get that
Photo Editor back. It is installed in the following folder by default
when you install Office for XP:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\PhotoEd\PHOTOED.EXE

You should also note that "Microsoft Photo Editor" has been discontinued
as a Microsoft Office component with the release of "Microsoft Office 2003".

"Microsoft Office Picture Manager 2003" is the new component
in "Microsoft Office 2003" and replaces "Microsoft Photo Editor" .

So if you installed "Microsoft Office 2003" the "Microsoft Photo Editor" program
is removed.

If you upgraded to Office 2003 from Office XP, you can re-install "Microsoft Photo Editor"
from your Microsoft Office XP CD-ROM.

Hope this helps,

Don

Install a copy of Microsoft Office, version 2002 or earlier.
Microsoft's Photo Editor is one of the tools included with the older
Microsoft Office suites. It never has, nor will it likely ever be, a
component of an operating system. Nor does it come with Office 2003.
